The Heritage Race

5K RACE
Held for the 6th year, this 5k will be chipped timed by Quintanar Running and takes runners down Brunswick's most historic African-American corridor and past some of Brunswick’s most historic neighborhoods, offering participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant history. 

This is a great opportunity to achieve a 5K personal record (PR) with its flat, long, straight stretches. This route follows an out-and-back path along Albany to 4th Street.

Guided Historic WALK
Participants take a guided walk down historic Albany Street, which has been the heartbeat of African-American history since after the Civil War. Walkers are transported back in time and can connect with the rich heritage and stories as they pass landmarks, historic homes, and sites.

Proceeds benefit the Brunswick African American Cultural Center (BAACC)

5K Race starts at 8:00 a.m.
Historic Walk starts at 8:15 a.m.

Overall Male and Female will each receive a free pair of shoes from Game Changers Running Company, including a foot scan & gait assessment. 
Masters (40-59) and Senior Masters (60+) Male and Female
Age Group (10-year age brackets) 1st, 2nd, 3rd places Male and Female
12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Participants who can't pick up their race numbers may have a third party pick them up.

UPDATED Start Location & Start Times
The Heritage 5K Race starts at 8:00 A.M. 

Due to construction on Albany Street, the 2025 Heritage Race and Walk has been relocated to -

First Bryant Baptist Church, 1100 F Street, Brunswick, GA 31520

All race day activities will begin and end at this new location—just one block south of our original start line. 

T-SHIRT PICK UP
Participants who register by 12 A.M. on June 9th, will receive a T-shirt on race day.

As of June 9th, the next 12 participants to register are guaranteed a race t-shirt. After that, we can’t promise availability, so be sure to register by June 9th to secure your shirt!

RACE BIBS
Always wear your race number bib on the outermost layer of clothing during the race.
Removing or damaging the bib may render the tag inoperable, and the participant may not appear in the results.
